Our facilities

Our lab is located in the second floor of Centro de Investigaciones Médicas (Marcoleta 391, Santiago) which is part of the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In our lab are located the offices of our administrative staff, work and study rooms for Ph.D. students and Postdoctoral researchers, meeting rooms and waiting rooms for our participants.

EEG lab

Our EEG lab is where the core of our research activities take place. In our lab, our researchers can find:

  1. A Biosemi EEG system with 64 electrodes
  2. A Neuroscan EEG system with 32 electrodes
  3. An eye tracking system Eyelink 1000
  4. A Polhemus system for digitation and referencing

Our lab also has all the equipment necessary for EEG research, including computers for signal acquisition and storage, monitors and software for visual stimuli presentation, EEG compatible headphones, and a separate area for device cleaning and maintenance. Our EEG acquisition system is within a Faraday booth which prevents external electromagnetic noise.

iEEG and MRI data acquisition

Thanks to our collaboration with the Epilepsy Unit of the Neurology Department of the UC-Christus-HSR hospital, our lab members can obtain both iEEG and EcoG data from patients in this institution. Our lab members can also acquire functional and structural MRI data (1.5 and 3 Tesla) through our collaboration with the team at NeuroCICS from Universidad del Desarrollo and Clínica Alemana.
